Every parent’s nightmare. A rebellious child. The rulebreaker. Here’s a problem….Christian Templates.

Let me explain…

You go to church every Sunday every Wednesday and following the regiment, and everybody is doing it.

You do it because you have to or because you know that’s just simply the thing you’re supposed to do. Lately, God’s shown me some of the areas of my life that have been mediocre, stagnant, far too ritualistic. It’s not that I’m wrong or that I’m doing something that I shouldn’t.

It’s the fact that in my mind I’ve lost sight of who God really is and lost sight of his power and existence. First of all, don’t act like you haven’t been there.

It’s not like God is meaningless to you but its the fact that the Christian life has been very normal for you and me and you need to break free from normality.

Romans 1:16 – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the greek.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel…for it is the power of God…”

Let me tell you something, Christians are afraid to share the gospel because they are afraid that they won’t be able to save that person. WHAT??

I’m going to leave that at that because I could ramble on forever. But it’s the fact that there is power from Christ.

You listen to your Chris Tomlin and your Jesus Jams playlist and get the feels and get a little reminder that God loves you but how is that actually affecting your Christian life and the spiritual impact you make on others?

This one is short and I think that may be a good thing but maybe not idk.

Here’s what it comes down to:

Forget about going to church because you know you’re supposed to.

Forget about doing what’s right because it’s expected.

Forget about “right thing.”

Forget about all that and reevaluate your relationship with Christ.

“Am I as close to Christ as I would like to be?”

“How have I used my life to impact others for the gospel?”

Break the rules of doing what’s expected out of duty.

My youth pastor asked me a question once…

“Is your relationship with Christ out of Devotion or Duty?”

So ask yourself that, why are you following Christ? Do you want to or is it because you were expected to?

If you see and I would hope you see that you passionately desire to have a close and meaningful relationship with Christ then all of that extra stuff will fall into place.
